Dental Crowns & Bridges in Uxbridge

What Are Crowns & Bridges?

Dental crowns and bridges are great restorative dentistry treatment options for anyone missing one or more teeth. Both procedures can restore the healthy functioning of your mouth. A crown covers and supports a damaged tooth, while a bridge replaces one or more missing teeth.

Crowns

Used to restore a tooth’s shape, appearance, and function, our custom porcelain crowns blend in with your existing teeth.

In a crown procedure, our team uses a local anesthetic to reduce the sensation in the affected area. On your first visit, you will receive a temporary crown while your permanent crown is being created. Using a temporary crown will help you get back to living your normal life while we work on creating a crown that’s just right for you.

On your next visit, we will remove your temporary crown and place your permanent custom crown. We will then ensure the final crown is the right fit, shape, and colour and cement it into place.

Bridges

If you’re missing one or more teeth, a bridge can be used to replace those teeth. Created by placing an artificial tooth between two crowns, bridges are permanent and cannot be removed. Bridges are made from molds to fit your mouth comfortably. Not only do bridges work to fill out your smile again, but they also help to protect your gums if you’re missing teeth. If you’re missing teeth, you might experience an impact on your speech, your ability to eat comfortably, or even the health of your jaw.

To set the bridge, we will either file down two healthy teeth to hold the bridge or surgically implant an artificial root to attach the bridge to. This is called a dental implant. We will only implant the artificial root if the teeth surrounding the area of the bridge are not healthy enough to provide support.

Keep Your Smile Looking Whole

You don’t have to feel you have to hide your smile because you are missing a tooth or have a cracked tooth. We want all of our patients to be excited about the way their smile lights up a room. During your dental exam, our team will recommend the best restorative dental option for your teeth.

If you have a cracked tooth or are missing teeth, please come in for a visit.
